TUESDAY SOPHISTICATION

One thing I love to wear is a great mini skirt. To think of it, mini ANYTHING has always caught my eye. I've always been an advocate of exposing my legs, may it be a dressy look or a causal one, I love it all. Since I have a ton of mini bottoms, it only makes sense to spice things up with intricate details. I can't deny that my favorite colors to wear is black & white, so any short of eye catching detail become my ultimate must have.

I had the strongest urge to channel my inner school girl with some great basics. The black blazer and a white button down. They are great to mix and match with to create different looks and it's a definite closet essential. They're easy to dress up or down with a quick change of bottoms and accessories, and now THAT is what you call a great set of basics.

Faux or not, black leather is without a doubt one of my guilty pleasures. Sure, the other colors are great but I always gravitate towards "the black."  I'm quite positive that I'm not alone on this particular desire for more leather and more black. I tend to incorporate leather in any look as much as I can to give that edgy flare that I endlessly adore.

It was a chilly day and I consciously put together this black number with an edgy outlook in mind. I had an urge to wear my oversized men's sweater, so like usual everything HAD to revolve around that one piece of clothing. Derived from that urge, is what we call one of my favorite comfort looks. Not bad right?

SLOUCHY SLACKS

There's something about menswear that will always appeal to me. It's this undeniable desire to dress like a man that will always tickle me. It's an easy way to express myself for that day and what better way to do that than to wear a perfect pair of slouchy slacks and oxfords.

SHORT SUIT & OXFORDS

The other day I decided to do a well needed spring cleaning and in the process I found some great gems. I discovered a variety of great finds, such as, short and pant over-alls, beachwear, and some fabulous belts. Belts that my mom wore in the 80s and this in particular was a real delight. Black and white with leather and fur, and silver hardware. I believe that, that alone was enough said. It's one of those universal belts that could be paired with practically ANYTHING! This piece quickly became my frequent go-to, to add a touch of texture and character to an ordinary look.

BLACK & WHITE

I wore this at end of 2013, thought it was appropriate to start a new year with all white and a few black leather touches. Is there any other kind?

There's something about mixing feminine pieces with oversized or masculine flare in general is sexy to me. There's a good balance of the two and you can't get bored with it. It's that element of unexpected surprise that keeps everyone intrigued in my opinion. This is one of my favorite looks as far as comfort goes, and you KNOW when something is chic AND comfortable you're definitely going to parade around in it as long as you can.

MENSWEAR

I've been on this menswear inspired binge for quite some time now and I don't think I'm going to stop any time soon. Tuxedo jacket, rolled up trousers and oxfords are the obvious menswear look that I can't get enough of. It's simple yet chic, with both masculine and feminine qualities. I added a sparkle box bag to add that touch of feminine flare that a masculine get-up needed to balance out two ends of the spectrum.

I've had a lot of compliments on this tuxedo jacket throughout the years and believe it or not, this jacket was designed by my dad. He drew out a sketch and had someone sew it up. He's had a lot of great pieces created for my mom back in the 90s and I had the opportunity to snatch them. Like I've mentioned recently, I went on a nice little "shopping" trip in my mom's closet. Lots of great goodies!
